Summary:
Edward Elric and his little brother Alphonse performed a human transmutation in hopes of reviving their deceased mother. Human transmutation has always been a forbidden taboo in their world of alchemy. The transmutation failed and Edward loses a leg in the process. His brother suffered an even greater loss, his whole body. In order to restore his brother, Edward sacrifices one of his legs to transmute his brothers soul into a suit of armor. Their lives are devastated. The two brothers set out on a journey to find the philosophers stone, a stone that magnifies one's alchemy exponentially in order to restore their original bodies.
